hiddenFACE.

This theme explores the dichotomy and harmony between the visible, tangible aspects of design ('seen') and the intangible, sensory or emotional elements ('felt'). The series explores how the visual aspects of a space interact with the more subtle, emotional and sensory experiences it evokes. It seeks to uncover the hidden, often overlooked facets of design that influence our perceptions and emotions, and challenges the conventional prioritisation of the visual in design by emphasising the importance of the felt or experiential aspects of spaces and structures. "hiddenFace" invites a deeper exploration of the multidimensional nature of design, encompassing both the seen and the felt.

What happens when we start to use our body and the embodied simulation as a space-building apparatus?

seen versus felt.

Engaging in an

out of body experience.

This is a personal project that explores the hidden realms of human existence. To explain it more clearly, our existence can be reflected through our actions and choices. The role of the body in architecture was explored and an attempt was made to use it as a tool for design purposes, creating a coexistence between human and machine movement.

User activities were captured through visual inputs such as videos and then trained with AI. Later, a simulation of the user's motion was created based on motion prediction by the system, which generated a vector field according to the input.

The artificially generated, living space envelops the non-living, frozen body of the user and gives it the necessary personality. It represents the digital footprint in a spatial and structural way. The heartbeat hints at the creation process, and if you zoom in, you can also hear the voices, the personal data used to create the space.

DATA to space.

The project focus on the role of the body in architecture and try to use it as a tool to design spaces. The simulation was generated using user activity data that was collected with a mobile phone during a 2-hour trip.
